We Are Proud to Announce NFPA 701 Certification for Our Ultimate and Ultra Blankets

NFPA 701

We are excited to share that our Ultimate Fire Blanket and Ultra Fire Blanket have achieved certification under the American Fire Safety Standard NFPA 701. This new test report represents a significant milestone and is an important addition to the recognition and acceptance of our Fire Blankets in various markets, building on top of our existing ISO EN 13501-1 certification.

What Is NFPA 701?

NFPA 701, also known as the “Standard Methods of Fire Tests for Flame Propagation of Textiles and Films,” is a highly respected Fire Safety Standard published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in the United States. This standard evaluates the flame-retardant properties of materials such as textiles and thin films, ensuring they meet stringent criteria for flame resistance. This makes NFPA 701 an essential standard for products used in industries with high Fire Safety requirements.

Test Methods Under NFPA 701

NFPA 701 includes two distinct test methods:

  • Test Method 1: a small-scale test for less dense, single-layer materials, such as those used for many standard window treatments, typically weighing less than 700 grams per square meter (21 ounces per square yard).
  • Test Method 2: Designed for heavier fabrics and coated materials. Test Method 2 typically requires larger samples to account for variations in the way heavier fabrics react to fire exposure.

These tests measure flame propagation, char length, and the presence of flaming debris, ensuring that certified products provide reliable safety performance in critical environments.

Why This Certification Matters

Achieving NFPA 701 certification highlights the quality and Fire-resistant properties of our Ultimate and Ultra Fire Blankets, which is especially important for the North American and Latin American markets. This achievement builds on our existing certifications, including ISO EN 13501-1, and reinforces our commitment to meeting the highest standards in Fire Safety.

This milestone reflects our dedication to innovation and quality, ensuring that our products meet the safety demands of customers worldwide.
